What it’s all about
The Mission Project enables capable adults with developmental disabilities to live independently and safely in community with individualized support.
How It Works
When adults with developmental disabilities reach the age of 21, there are fewer services for them. The Mission Project serves these adults at that critical time and beyond, offering an opportunity for a full life in which they can thrive.
Mission Project participants enjoy living in their own apartments and socializing in their own community while also being supported by parents, guardians, friends and dedicated professionals.
The Mission Project is situated in Mission, Kansas, a safe community that has jobs, services, entertainment and a community center within walking distance of apartment complexes.

About the Derby Gala
The “Run for the Roses Kentucky Derby Gala” was started 10 years ago as a fundraising effort for the Mission Project.
Profits from the gala have allowed The Mission Project to develop and fund needed programs such as transportation services, the iPad project and MPower Health.
